Sewer waste management using artificial intelligence to speed up the maintenance process — SewerAI

Traditional sewer software providers seem to struggle with fast iterations, modern & scalable online first architectures, new SaaS business models and for various reasons lack the understanding how core AI principles work or how this tech has the potential to transform many aspects of the current workflows in the sewer industry.

Younger and/or more innovative providers (such as SewerAI, VAPAR, Hades.ai, WinCan Sewermatics, etc.) rely on online first architectures where standard workflows such as upload-process-result are implemented. A few such as WinCan Sewematics also add a human quality gate before AI results are provided to customers. CCTV survey reporting is now packaged into online portals with variations of standard elements such as sharing, grouping, overviews, edits, user management, emails, payment, etc. overall aiming to increase speed and accuracy of inspections.

The key unique selling proposition in this new game are to some extent data and a scalable online first architecture but above a certain threshold it’s even more important how state of the art AI technologies are used to assist and automate workflows. To the best of our knowledge, Drainiac.ai is the first provider that managed to combine cutting edge machine learning tech and filed a patent (12/21 EP21216170) to protect this competitive advantage.
